There are certain things to do after you purchase the place you will stay in Turkey. Subscribing for electricity, water, gas, telephone services, etc. is amongst the most important things.
While moving into a house/apartment or establishing a workplace, it is compulsory to have electricity and water subscription, it is optional if you also wish to be enlisted for a telephone subscription. They must all, however, be signed under the name of the moving person into the property. Any person who transfers to another place by purchasing or renting must subscribe in person or a under a power of attorney. Electricity Subscription
You should make sure that you subscribe to electricity services for your own property or your long-term rental.
If you are moving home and you previously had a subscription for electricity, terminate your subscription for the existing property and transfer to your new address. The electricity service provider will claim a security deposit for the subscription. This will be repaid when you terminate your subscription.

All subscription contracts must be signed in person. It is therefore compulsory to attend the electricity provider in your area either yourself or the sellers company under a power of attorney.
Water Subscription
If you will reside in a metropolitan area, you should apply to the metropolitan municipality, or if you will reside in another settlement, you should apply to the Water and Sewerage Services Directorate of the relevant municipality.
Your water subscription will be activated after you pay the security deposit.

You must apply to the metropolitan municipality if you live in a metropolitan area or to the Directorate of Water and Sewerage Services of the relevant municipality if you live in any other unit of settlement.
Telephone, Cable TV, Internet, Satellite Subscriptions
In order for you to benefit from services such as internet, cable TV or satellite in your home house/apartment or workplace, the subscription must be started by making the relevant application for the services. Subscription applications can be made in person, by phone or online, depending on the service provider. Service providers offer a variety of contracted or non-contractual packages and tariffs for related services. At the time of subscription, a subscription that is both adequate and affordable should be selected.
Authorized personnel from the distribution company will be arrive to the place of installation to install and activate the services. For this purpose, an appointment date is assigned by the company. The subscriber or a person specified by the subscriber must be present at the address on the day and time of the appointment.
